About the Role

The AOD Reintegration Case Worker will facilitate and develop recovery case plans and reintegration services for participants of the STEPS Program, a partnership between the Department of Corrections, Palmerston, and South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS). The role will input into the design and deliver a range of support programs in both pre‐ and post‐release settings.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized recovery case plans for participants of the STEPS Program.

Coordinate and provide support and case management throughout pre‐ and post‐release phases.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver education, training, and group programs.

Model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, and coping skills to promote resilience.

Qualifications

* Hold or be working toward a relevant tertiary qualification in social, behavioural, or health sciences, or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated case worker experience with an understanding of AOD recovery, person‐centered, trauma‐informed, and strength‐based principles.
* Integrated understanding of working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Experience developing and delivering education, training, or educational group programs.
* Positive attitude toward working with people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse groups.
* Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills, and resilience.
* Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, able to build and maintain effective working relationships.
* Experience working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Well‐developed oral and written communication skills.
* Experience in an AOD therapeutic community environment or justice environment is considered advantageous.
* Knowledge and understanding of community‐based model of care.

Employment Screening Requirements

* All team members are required to undergo a National Police Clearance.
* Roles involving direct contact with children require a valid WA Working with Children Check.
* All applicants must complete a satisfactory Drug and Alcohol test.
