Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a highly skilled and security‑mindful Avionics Component Workshop Technician to support defence aviation operations in Newcastle, NSW. If you bring strong avionics maintenance experience, a commitment to precision, and the professionalism required to work in a defence‑regulated environment, we would like to hear from you.

Your role

In this role, you will contribute directly in a defence sector by ensuring the reliability and serviceability of critical avionics systems. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic and avionics systems using advanced diagnostic and testing tools.
- Perform precision repairs, calibration, and functional testing of circuit boards and avionics assemblies in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Maintain and service a range of avionics systems, including communication, navigation, surveillance, autopilot, and radar technologies integrated into mission‑critical aviation platforms.
- Record and maintain detailed documentation of maintenance, testing, and calibration work to meet quality assurance and compliance requirements.

Essential requirements

- Relevant years of working experience as an Avionics Technician in the defence or related sector
- Experience working on Lead‑in Fighter aircraft
- Cert IV Aeroskills (Avionics) and relevant MEAs
- Australian citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 Australian Defence security clearance (visit AGSVA website for more information about Security Clearances)
- AOD test prior to commencement of contract

Don’t have a Defence clearance? No problem we will arrange sponsorship and provide guidance during the entire process!
