You will work across masterplanning, public realm enhancements, sustainable urban drainage, earthworks, site development for buildings, and related infrastructure.
The role may involve data centre design, rail projects, energy initiatives, and highway design, from concept to construction, in collaboration with public and private sector clients.
Responsibilities
Carry out assessment, analysis, and design; prepare design reports, models, drawings, calculations, and specifications.
Collaborate with Arup colleagues in other disciplines; work with architects, environmental specialists, and planners.
Meet with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders; undertake site visits and surveys.
Specify and analyse survey information and constraints for solution development.
Develop and appraise options; support the production of engineering solutions and business cases.
Undertake sustainability reviews, carbon-related studies, and related reporting and design activities.
Undertake feasibility studies and prepare engineering sketches and technical reports.
Create digital solutions to manipulate, analyse, and report on large datasets.
Use specialist software such as Infodrainage, GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D/Bentley MicroStation, ProjectWise, Navisworks, Infraworks, Plant3D, InfoWorks, Python.
Eligibility and Qualifications
You are studying for (or have obtained) a degree in Civil Engineering, ideally 2:1 or above.
Interested in pursuing Professional Accreditation and building a long-term engineering career.
Willingness to learn new skills and deliver high-quality work for a range of clients.
Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
Passion for creating a sustainable future and shaping a better world.
Interest in how digital methods and automation can improve outputs.
Requirements and Availability
Start date anticipated in September ****.
Location: Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia (with potential opportunities at other Arup offices as applicable).
