Job Overview
South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join Fremantle Hospital, a 300‐bed specialist hospital focused on high‐quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services. The position is a permanent, full‐time appointment with the potential for extension.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team that plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates Physiotherapy services in the clinical specialty area of Rehabilitation and Aged Care, including the specialty of Ortho‐Gerontology. The Senior Physiotherapist will:
* Plan, implement and evaluate advanced physiotherapy clinical practice skills, ensuring patient safety and quality of care;
* Support the Head of Department, Deputy Head of Department and P3 Senior Physiotherapist by providing supervision to P1 Physiotherapy staff and support staff in the unit and clinical area;
* Coordinate duties, manage performance, and practise in accordance with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia Code of Conduct, the Physiotherapy Board of Australia Registration Standards and SMHS policies and guidelines;
* Actively participate in the development and delivery of physiotherapy services that align with SMHS strategic objectives.
Qualifications
The role requires the following:
* A registered Physiotherapist with advanced experience in Rehabilitation and Aged Care, including Ortho‐Gerontology;
* Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating physiotherapy services;
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a record of supporting junior team members;
* Excellent communication and collaborative skills, capable of working effectively in a multidisciplinary environment;
* Knowledge of the Physiotherapy Board of Australia Registration Standards and relevant SMHS policies and guidelines.
