Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in planning, managing, developing, and monitoring the Institute’s accounting, financial analysis/reporting, and treasury management to ensure optimal effectiveness. This role will assist in delivering high-quality and timely budgeting and financial planning to meet the Institute’s financial goals, as well as ensuring the delivery of a sustainable business model.No two days will be the same in this varied role, but typically your tasks will include:Acting as a “strategic business partner” to organisational heads through professional advice, analytics, and recommendations to assist planning and decision-making.Ensuring the Finance team provides a customer-focused service that delivers timely, reliable, and value-adding advice to Institute management and staff.Managing external audit relationships, leading the execution of the annual audit process, and delivering all statutory reporting obligations.Preparing and monitoring cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.Driving innovation and continuous improvement of all finance and accounting systems, processes, procedures, budgeting, reporting, data management, and analysis.Overseeing fiscal reporting activities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, legal, audit, and governance requirements.Based at Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands, this role is permanent and offered on a full-time basis.About YouThe ideal applicant will be an enthusiastic finance professional who thrives under pressure while managing competing priorities. Your success will be demonstrated through experience in cultivating meaningful relationships based on trust, along with:A tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business and membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia, or working towards membership.Significant experience in a financial, management, or project accounting role.Strong skills in financial reporting, analysis, and providing financial advice, including at the Board level.Excellent knowledge of business management, financial reporting, and accounting principles to support strategic planning and resource allocation.Ability to lead business improvement, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.Effective business partnering skills and experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.We value diversity and inclusion and encourage applicants who meet some, but not all, of the requirements to apply.
