About your role As the Assistant Business Manager, you'll provide expert, proactive advice across finance, business management and operational planning to support both strategic and day-to-day activity within the service.
In this role, you will: Provide timely business, financial and HR advice to support unit planning and service delivery.
Deliver high-level administrative and operational support, including asset management, procurement and accounts payable.
Assist with budget development and provide analysis on establishment, expenditure, FTE and activity.
Identify, explain and address variances, contributing to strategies that support performance and sustainability.
Coordinate month-end and year-end financial processes and reporting.
Support the development of business plans and assist in preparing business cases and feasibility assessments.
About you You're a motivated and collaborative business professional with strong analytical and communication skills.
You will bring: Developing experience in business management within a large or complex organisation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills that support clear, effective interactions with staff at all levels.
Developing analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and support performance management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Understanding of HR, WHS, employment equity and anti-discrimination principles.
Tertiary qualifications in business, accounting or health service management (highly regarded).
Class C driver's licence and willingness to work across multiple Metro South sites.
