Heavy Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electricians
Due to growing demand our client is seeking Heavy Diesel Fitters / Heavy Diesel Mechanics / Auto Electrician Technicians to join their hard working and dedicated team. As Heavy Diesel Fitters / Heavy Diesel Mechanics / Auto Electrician Technicians, you will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical repair.
Responsibilities
* Diagnosing, repairing, fitting and overhauling heavy diesel engines and plant equipment.
* Maintaining, diagnosing, repairing and fitting hydraulic components of diesel–powered attachments such as pumps and injectors.
* Dismantling, repairing and reassembling engines, transmissions, steering columns and other components.
* Using oxy, electric, TIG and MIG welding techniques to fit, replace, assemble and repair metal parts including fabrication of parts, machinery and other equipment.
* Diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicle fuel injection systems.
* Testing repaired parts for proper performance.
* Testing and repairing basic electrical circuits.
* Using computers and specialized tools to diagnose and repair faults.
* Inspecting vehicles and machinery for faults.
* Following workplace Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) protocols.
* Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and electronic components on vehicles.
* Test and diagnose electrical and electronic malfunctions, replacing faulty equipment including faulty ignitions, fuses, lamps, switches and electrical wiring.
* Dismantling and installing electrical and electronic components.
* Connecting equipment (including alternators, generators, starter motors) and accessories to power supply.
* Adjusting control systems and timing.
* Following workplace Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) protocols.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications (at Cert III) in Engineering – Mechanical/Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Auto electrical Trade or equivalent, or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Diesel Fitter/Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Auto electrician.
* Repair, service and calibrate components.
* Diagnostic skills.
* Able to demonstrate efficient work practices.
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
* Hydraulics/ Pneumatic experience will be highly regarded.
This is a full-time position with an attractive salary based on experience + superannuation.
