About the role

As Coordinator – Youth Services, you will coordinate the delivery, development and continuous improvement of Council's Youth Services. You will lead and develop a team of youth professionals, fostering a positive, accountable and high‐performing culture while building capability and supporting staff with varied experience, strengths and development needs.

This role requires an experienced and people‐focused leader who can foster a positive, inclusive and high‐performing team culture while maintaining professional standards, quality service delivery and strong stakeholder relationships.

You will play a key role in shaping positive outcomes for young people through advocacy, engagement, programs, events, and strategic service development.

What you'll be doing
* Providing strong people leadership, coaching and supervision to the Youth Services team, building capability, managing performance, navigating complex workforce matters, and fostering a positive, professional, accountable, inclusive and psychologically safe team culture.
* Leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of Council's Youth Services programs, events and facilities, including budget management, grants administration and coordinated responses to critical incidents.
* Building and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing Council professionally and confidently across community, government and sector networks.
* Driving service development through strategic planning, policy improvement, risk management and securing external funding to meet the evolving needs of young people.
You'll bring
* Proven, resilient people leader with experience driving team performance, leading change, building capability, and fostering a positive workplace culture in complex service environments.
* Passionate about developing people and creating supportive, empowering environments where staff can thrive and perform at their best.
* Highly professional with strong emotional intelligence, sound judgement, and the ability to manage people, programs, and partnerships while influencing diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated success leading diverse teams, including coaching, mentoring, performance management, conflict resolution and workforce development.
* Extensive experience in youth services with a strong understanding of young people's needs, alongside well‐developed stakeholder engagement across community, government and partners.
* Proven capability managing service delivery, budgets, and projects, with strong analytical, problem‐solving, reporting, and communication skills.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (Youth Work, Human Services or similar) and the ability to represent the organisation professionally with excellent communication and presentation skills.
