Big Chief Hire in Ormeau is seeking someone to fill a hands‐on role where you'll spend the majority of your time on-site, servicing and repairing earthmoving and heavy machinery at client locations across QLD.
What You Will Do:
* Travel to sites to service, maintain, and repair plant and machinery, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment
* Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in the field
* Conduct safety inspections and ensure machinery meets operational standards
* Maintain accurate service records and document repairs thoroughly
* Work independently while supporting the Big Chief team
* Work professionally with our client ensuring they receive professional service delivery at all times
What You Will Bring:
* Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Plant & Machinery, or similar qualification
* 1–3+ years of hands‐on experience with heavy machinery or field service work
* Strong problem‐solving skills and mechanical aptitude
* Valid driver's licence (HR licence or higher preferred)
* Ability to work independently, travel to sites, and thrive in a field‐based environment
* Safety‐first mindset with commitment to OH&S compliance
