As part of our continued commitment to employee wellbeing and operational excellence, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Adviser to join our team.

About the Role
The Occupational Health and Safety Adviser will play a critical role in supporting the business's commitment to maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive workplace. The successful candidate will work closely with management and employees to identify risks, implement effective safety systems, ensure legislative compliance, and foster a positive safety culture across manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Develop, implement, review, and continuously improve workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
* Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments across manufacturing, warehousing, production, and distribution operations.
* Develop and implement risk control measures to minimise workplace injuries, incidents, and occupational hazards.
* Monitor compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
* Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and safety reviews to ensure ongoing compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
* Maintain accurate records of safety performance, incidents, investigations, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
* Coordinate and facilitate workplace health and safety training programs, including inductions, manual handling, hazard awareness, emergency response procedures, and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Promote ergonomic principles and safe work practices across all operational areas to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injuries and workplace fatigue.
* Support the development and implementation of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
* Monitor the safe handling, storage, and use of chemicals and hazardous substances in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Assist in developing and implementing environmental and sustainability initiatives relevant to manufacturing and food processing operations.
* Work collaboratively with managers and supervisors to foster a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
* Coordinate return-to-work programs and support injured employees through rehabilitation and recovery processes.
* Liaise with regulatory authorities, external auditors, insurers, and medical providers when required.

Qualifications
• Tertiary qualification, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Work Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a Workplace Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related advisory role.

Other Requirements

* Experience within manufacturing, food processing, warehousing, logistics, or industrial environments will be highly regarded.
* Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, risk management principles, and workplace compliance requirements.
* Experience conducting workplace investigations, safety audits, and risk assessments.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, training, and report-writing skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to workplace safety.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational teams and management.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and safety management systems.
