Powerflow Systems Pty Ltd is a locally owned and operated hydraulic and pneumatic engineering company with more than 52 years of industry experience. We specialise in the design, manufacture, repair, and servicing of hydraulic and pneumatic systems for clients across Australia and overseas. Based in our modern, purpose‐built facility within the Steel River Industrial Estate at Mayfield West, our team of 24 dedicated employees is committed to delivering high‐quality engineering solutions and exceptional customer service.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Workshop & Service Hydraulic Technician to join our growing team. This hands‐on role involves supporting both workshop operations and onsite service activities, working closely with supervisors and project teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high‐quality outcomes. While previous hydraulic industry experience is preferred, it is not essential. Applicants with a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply, as full in‐house training will be provided to the successful candidate. The role also requires good organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to use scheduling and business management systems such as Smartsheet and Aussie Time Sheets. Training in these systems will be provided where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Repair and service hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves
* Identify hydraulic components and assist with equipment installation and commissioning
* Perform fault finding and diagnostics on hydraulic systems
* Maintain workshop cleanliness and general housekeeping standards
* Attend onsite field service and breakdown support work as required
* Complete accurate service reports and job documentation
* Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to HSE standards and practices
Desirable Skills (Training Provided)
* Pipe and tube bending and cleaning
* MIG and TIG welding
Skills & Experience
* Cert III Mechanical engineering trade required
* Previous experience in hydraulic repairs and servicing preferred
* Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills
* Forklift licence advantageous
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Remuneration
An attractive salary package will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience. Superannuation and applicable leave loading are paid in addition to salary.
