The Role
As Senior Mechanical Engineer / Senior HVAC Project Engineer, you will take technical ownership of complex D&C mechanical services projects from design through to delivery. You will work across the full engineering lifecycle heat load calculations, fan static and pump head calculations, value engineering, design documentation, procurement support, and stakeholder coordination.
You will work closely with Project Managers, draftspersons, site teams, clients, architects, and builders and play a meaningful role in developing junior engineers and strengthening the engineering function.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing and reviewing D&C mechanical services and HVAC designs
* Carrying out heat load calculations, fan static calculations, pump head calculations
* Supporting value management and value engineering on new and live projects
* Providing technical support to Project Managers, draftspersons, and site teams
* Attending design meetings and contributing to safety in design
* Preparing engineering design reports and technical documentation
* Liaising with clients, consultants, architects, and contractors
* Assisting with Green Star and NABERS requirements
* Mentoring and developing junior mechanical engineers
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
* Proven experience in mechanical services, HVAC, building services, or commercial construction
* Strong HVAC design knowledge — D&C project experience highly regarded
* Comfortable with heat load software such as Camel or HAP
* Confident communicator with experience dealing with clients, consultants, and internal teams
* Green Star or NABERS exposure advantageous
* Data centre project experience highly regarded
