Clinical Nurse Specialist
Job Summary:
Work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Crisis Assessment Treatment Team (CATT) to deliver expert mental health care, including triage, holistic assessment, clinical risk management and crisis intervention within the community setting.
* Collaborate with other staff in Community Mental Health, Inpatient Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Services and community service providers to achieve improved outcomes for individuals with mental illness.
* Deliver coordinated, assertive case management within a multidisciplinary team, including triage, crisis, intake, assessment and care planning for clients in both community and Emergency Department settings.
* Serve as a clinical expert and resource for staff and other providers involved in the management of patients with mental health concerns, including those with concurrent alcohol or drug use issues.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level skills, knowledge and clinical expertise in Mental Health nursing to support clients across various age groups and risk presentations.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and documentation, including the Mental Health Act and Agency policies and procedures.
* Utilize advanced written and oral communication, liaison, interpersonal and counselling skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Qualifications:
* Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualifications, or completion of an accredited hospital-based program leading to registration as a psychiatric nurse by a relevant regulator.
* Demonstrated high-level skills, knowledge and clinical expertise in Mental Health nursing.
