The Opportunity
Integrated Therapy Services is a multidisciplinary, specialist service designed to promote the health and wellbeing of young children with a history of developmental trauma experiences. The service provides coordinated, evidence-based prevention, early detection and early intervention services to support children's recovery and development.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing infant mental health services for young children living in out-of-home care. This is primarily an assessment role. You will aid in the coordination of services for the infant, to support their ongoing development and school readiness, and provide consultation for Department staff and facilitate psychoeducational groups with caregivers to support trauma-informed caregiving of children.
Advanced knowledge of complex developmental trauma and experience in infant mental health are highly desirable. Additional skills and attributes that will be valuable include commitment to evidence-based practice, development of professional skills and knowledge, contribution to ongoing service development, effective collaboration with other professionals, and well‐developed interpersonal and communication skills.
In this role you will be supported through supervision, professional development opportunities, and collegial support. This is a highly rewarding role in which you will make an essential contribution to the social and emotional wellbeing of children, ultimately supporting positive life outcomes for this vulnerable cohort.
As a Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist you will perform within the framework of the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Conduct for Psychologists using clinical expertise.
