Marcus Today, founded in 1998, is a stock market education and portfolio management company headquartered in Melbourne. The business comprises two segments - Marcus Today Membership for self-directed investors and the investment arm - Marcus Today Managed Portfolios.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a stock market analyst, portfolio manager and writer based in Cheltenham, Melbourne. You'll be part of the team that produces the Marcus Today newsletter - our main member offering which blends stock and ETF research with publication.
We're looking for someone who understands the stock market, its drivers and has experience managing portfolios and writing stock-focused content. The ideal candidate will be able to add real value from the outset. This means not just following instructions, but contributing ideas, analysis, and participating in investment decisions.
Office days are four days a week with Mondays WFH. It is imperative the candidate not only satisfies the job requirements on paper but integrates into our tight-knit team of eight.
Qualifications
* A passionate interest in the stock market
* Experience in stock selection which includes fundamental, macro and technical research
* Experience writing stock market content
* A high level of competency in Microsoft Excel is required
* A high level of attention to detail when publishing analysis, figures and charts is required. The content side of this role requires you to be both writer and editor at times.
* Experience using financial analysis tools (Bloomberg Terminal, Reuters, FactSet) would be highly regarded.
