Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week

Ladyboy Dining & Bar is a modern Thai restaurant inspired by the vibrant energy of Bangkok street food culture. Located in Melbourne, we are known for delivering bold Thai flavours, contemporary presentation, and a fun, high-energy dining experience. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

This role is central to maintaining the authenticity, creativity, and consistency of our Thai-inspired menu while ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare and cook authentic and modern Thai dishes in line with restaurant recipes and presentation standards
* Assist in planning and developing seasonal menus inspired by Thai cuisine, including estimating food costs and ordering ingredients
* Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared, well-presented, and delivered to a high standard during service periods
* Maintain strict food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in accordance with Australian regulations
* Work closely with management and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
* Monitor food quality at every stage of preparation and ensure consistency across all dishes
* Assist in training and guiding junior kitchen staff on Thai cooking techniques and kitchen procedures
* Manage stock rotation, ingredient storage, and minimise food wastage through proper handling and preservation methods
* Support kitchen organisation, workflow efficiency, and overall operational improvement

Qualifications & Requirements
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (preferred but not required)
• Minimum 1 years experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen

Skills & Requirements

* Experience in Thai or Asian cuisine strongly preferred
* Strong knowledge and experience in Thai cuisine (essential)
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment
* Excellent attention to detail in flavour, presentation, and consistency
* Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP knowledge an advantage)
* Passion for Asian/Thai cuisine and modern culinary creativity
