Facility Manager | Aged Care | Too Good To Be True?
$170,000 total package plus salary packaging
Key Facts
* NFP Residential Aged Care Provider
* Permanent, Full‐Time position
* $71+ per hour, Super + Salary Packaging + Car Allowance
We are looking for a Facility Manager for a 50+ bed residential village in a highly sought‐after, family‐friendly area of Canberra. The current FM is retiring in July and will leave behind a "happy village" with almost 100% occupancy and full 3‐year accreditation (next audit in 2028).
Organisation
Our client is a 145‐year‐old benevolent organisation, financially secure, fully staff‐focused, and led by a CEO widely regarded as one of the top leaders in the industry. During COVID they deliberately ran at a planned loss to stockpile PPE and protect staff, and they invest in staff welfare, including scholarship programmes that move staff from Carer to Registered Nurse.
Culture
You will report to a Regional Manager who is highly protective of her team, operates with a strict "no blame" policy, and prioritises psychological safety. The environment encourages accountability without fear of negative repercussions.
Benefits
* Housing: The organisation is building apartments exclusively for staff; if you live in one you pay approximately half the market rent.
* Housing security for life: employees can stay in their unit after retirement.
* Free degrees: scholarship programmes to upskill staff from Carer to Registered Nurse.
* Financial: $71 per hour base rate, $13,000 vehicle allowance, plus Super + Salary Packaging.
Role & Future
* Manage daily operations, AN-ACC funding and compliance.
* Lead a heavily supported team, including a Care Manager, Quality Officer, Educator, and AN‐ACC RN.
* Prepare the site for growth – the village currently has 53 beds with confirmed plans for rebuilding and expansion.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily facility operations.
* Ensure AN‐ACC funding and compliance requirements are met.
* Lead and develop staff.
* Prepare for expansion and growth of the facility.
Qualifications
* AHPRA registration and Nursing Degree are highly advantageous; strong, empathetic non‐clinical leaders are considered.
* Residential Aged Care experience is essential.
* Full Working Rights in Australia.
* Willingness to live and work in Canberra.
* Desire to learn and help shape the culture.
