About the Role
The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing, tracking, and controlling inventory, equipment, materials, and stores within a Defence contracted environment. This role ensures stock is accurately recorded, securely stored, and available when required, in line with Defence, contractual, security, safety, and governance requirements.
You will work closely with Defence stakeholders and internal teams to support inventory and asset management activities, including those related to Defence Protected Vehicles, ensuring compliance and operational readiness at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day inventory, stores, warehousing, and asset control activities
* Maintain accurate stock records, asset registers, and Defence inventory system data
* Conduct stocktakes, audits, reconciliations, and inventory reporting
* Transfer, reconcile, and dispose of inventory in line with Defence and company procedures
* Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment to meet operational needs
* Support inventory activities for Defence Protected Vehicles fleet
* Ensure secure storage, handling, and labelling of materials and equipment
* Maintain compliance with Defence security, WHS, quality, and governance requirements
* Liaise with Defence stakeholders, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams
* Identify and report risks, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities
* Prepare reports and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Current and relevant Defence ERP profiles required to perform the role
* Current and relevant Defence AIMS profile or relevant experience
* Experience in inventory, logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or asset management
* Experience in Defence, government, or highly regulated environments
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
* Ability to work in secure, compliance-driven environments
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to follow procedures and work independently
Desirable Skills / Security Requirements
* Experience with Defence ERP systems such as MILIS, SAP, Objective or similar
* Knowledge of Defence logistics, materiel management, or technical inventory processes
* Experience supporting vehicle, equipment, or fleet-related environments
* Understanding of controlled items, audit processes, and Defence compliance frameworks

* Confirmation of Defence system access (ERP/AIMS)
