Westpac Group Risk plays a critical role in identifying, monitoring, and managing a range of risks. We provide expert advice and help our business partners make informed decisions. We ensure that however or wherever we operate, we have controls and frameworks to protect our business and our customers.
The Executive Manager role plays a leadership role in driving, implementing and managing risk management and monitoring obligations, supporting consistent implementation, and embedding of risk management frameworks, policies and controls.
This role is also responsible for partnering with key stakeholders on all matters risk and control, developing pragmatic solutions to risk and control problems through to implementation.
It is an expectation to promote a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Provide senior risk expertise to the business in the identification, assessment, actioning and remediation of risk issues to drive a strong risk and controls culture that helps achieve business objectives.
- Support the proactive and effective monitoring, management and reporting of current and emerging risks and facilitate a strong risk culture, risk awareness and ownership of risk throughout the business.
- Oversee the coordination of risk forums and reporting requirements to support operational risk management activities
- Support the development of the business' risk profile and operation within risk appetite, including defining and operationalising relevant RAS metrics, and develop and implementing plans to achieve this.
- Work closely with key senior stakeholders to identify and enable more efficient and effective risk practices in the business.
- Provide risk expertise to the business in the identification, assessment, and actioning of risk issues to drive a strong risk culture that helps achieve business objectives.
- Provide risk expertise to support the business with regulatory requests and remediation.
- Support the business in the delivery of remediation programs.
- Partner with the business in the identification, assessment and control of delivery risks through change.
- Provide insights and reporting for risk committees and board risk committees.

**What do I need?**
- 10 years work experience
- Experienced risk management professional with strong banking/ financial services / risk assessment experience, including a material risk policy component related to the relevant risk class.
- Tertiary qualifications preferred
