We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Maintenance Supervisor to lead locomotive and rolling stock maintenance operations within our expanding rail maintenance facility in Altona.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising maintenance activities, ensuring fleet reliability and availability, and supporting operational performance through safe and efficient workshop practices.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendentthe positionincludes the following responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise Maintenance Technicians across rotating shift rosters
* Ensure optimal utilisation of labour and workshop resources to meet maintenance schedules
* Coordinate daily shift handovers and maintain effective team communication
* Foster a positive safety culture and high-performance work environment
* Limitbreakdowns / downtime on equipment
* Prioritise repairs and maintenance activities in line with operational requirements
* Continuous improvement of the entire area of responsibility
* Ensure maintenance activities comply with company policies, rail safety legislation, standards, and OEM requirements
* Monitor completion of work orders and SAP maintenance records
* Promote and enforce safe work practices and PPE compliance

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
* Experience in a leadership similar role
* Strong knowledge of locomotive or rolling stock maintenance practices
* Root Cause Analysis experience
* Understands the importance of WHS across the business.
