The Role
We are currently looking for an Associate or Senior Associate with 4-7 years PAE to join our corporate team in Brisbane. This position will work closely with experienced and respected Partners, who specialise in:
* M&A transactions;
* Equity & debt capital markets;
* Joint ventures;
* Corporate governance;
* Restructures; and
* General commercial and corporate contracts.
The Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
* Have solid experience and exposure to M&A transactions as well as a strong background in Corporate Advisory / Mergers & Acquisitions with a mid-market focus preferably, through experience gained in mid to top-tier firms;
* Have solid experience with legal due diligence including drafting due diligence reports
* Experience with reviewing and drafting contracts
* Possess a willingness to have a hands-on approach as a client-focused practitioner, with great relationship-building and communication skills;
* Possess a willingness and ability to understand clients' commercial needs and objectives and provide solutions to achieve these;
* Provide sound, pragmatic and innovative legal advice to the firm's corporate clients;
* Good contract drafting skills, legal analysis and problem solving skills to varied situations;
* Have excellent attention to detail, analytical skills which will be backed up by strong academics; and
* A thirst to develop as this is a role that offers genuine career development.
