About the Position
Image Embroidery is seeking a highly motivated Industrial Designer (with strong embroidery design focus) to join our team in Canning Vale.
The role involves creating and developing custom designs for embroidery and promotional products, managing design processes from concept to production, and working closely with clients, sales, and production teams to deliver high‐quality outcomes within tight deadlines in a fast‐paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Concept visualization and sketching according to client requirements
* Consult effectively with the sales team and clients about design requirements, product designs and resolve design concerns to meet agreed outcomes
* Investigate appropriate materials and develop production processes to ensure ability to produce cost‐effective products and meet client requirements
* Ensure that timelines are aligned with production schedules and implement cost optimisation initiatives
* Ensure concepts are closely aligned to requirements through the production of detailed plot charts, blue‐prints, renderings and sample designs
* Produce technical drawings and accurately test product designs using models, prototypes, specialist computer software and computer‐aided design (CAD) technology
* Collaborate closely with the production team to resolve any product faults or manufacturing concerns relating to the design, production time or materials issues
* Collaborate with the sales team, as required, to present designs, samples and final work to customers for review and evaluation
Requirements
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
* Appropriate Industrial Design / Product Design and Development qualifications.
* Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated skills in a business environment, specifically in the promotional products area.
* Strong experience in digitising using Wilcom embroidery software, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, and CAD technology.
* Must be able to digitise 3D embroidery designs and have highly developed skills in the creation of print files (vector and embroidery).
* Excellent organisation, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail.
* Proven ability to manage daily production deadlines, multi‐task, and work efficiently in a fast‐paced and dynamic environment.
