ABOUT THE POSITION
The company is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join its Sydney office. You will lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, including roadworks, stormwater, drainage, subdivisions, and public domain works and play a key role in managing projects and mentoring junior engineers. This is a hands-on design and project management role within a multidisciplinary team environment.
DUTIES
Lead and manage the design and documentation of civil engineering projects from concept through to construction
Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and technical reports
Coordinate with other disciplines (structural, hydraulic, fire, traffic) to deliver integrated project outcomes
Manage client communication, project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical leadership to junior engineers and designers
Contribute to business development, including proposals and presentations for new opportunities
Stay up to date with emerging technologies, sustainability practices, and industry developments
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent tertiary qualification
Familiarity with sustainable stormwater management and water-sensitive urban design (WSUD)
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards accreditation
Extensive experience in civil design within a consulting environment
Proven ability to manage and deliver complex civil projects independently and as part of a team
Sound technical knowledge of design standards, local council requirements, and relevant Australian codes
Proficiency with civil design software (e.g. Civil 3D, 12D, MUSIC, DRAINS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and time-management abilities
