Your new role
Are you passionate about preserving and enhancing our local parks, gardens, and open spaces?
Our Open Spaces and Recreation section is looking for a dedicated Gardener to join the Arboriculture and Streetscapes team.
You will be responsible for maintaining high profile irrigated parks and event space through activities such as mowing, whipper snipping, weeding, mulching, blowing, spraying, irrigation, planting trees and shrubs, and general labouring.
Your knowledge of horticulture and pesticide application will be essential in controlling weeds, pests, and diseases to maintain the region to a high horticultural standard.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
* Knowledge and experience in horticulture and open space maintenance in public parks or gardens environment
* Ability to safely operate and maintain small machinery including but not limited to tractors, mowers, brush cutters, chain saws, blowers and other plant
* A motivated, proactive, self-starter with a passion to deliver quality horticulture works
* Someone who enjoys and is capable of physical and outdoor work
* Excellent communication and customer service skills

Application Criteria
* Demonstrated work experience within a similar horticultural environment and passion to deliver quality work.
* Knowledge and experience with irrigation, safe operation of zero turn mowers, whipper snippers, blowers and adhering to WHS procedures.
* A strong team player that demonstrates positive attitude and can work independently.
