Job Summary
The Organisation is seeking a Head Chef to lead and manage a team in the efficient delivery of all food services within a residential aged care facility. This full-time role involves planning, preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals that meet individual dietary needs, preferences, and cultural requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee kitchen operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Develop and implement menus that are nutritious and appealing
- Supervise staff performance and development
- Ensure high-quality delivery of food services
Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef or Cook Manager
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (NSW Food Authority requirements)
- Excellent understanding of HACCP & Food Safety legislative requirements
- Demonstrated working knowledge of budget management and cost control
- Previous experience in menu planning, food ordering, stock control, and dietary/nutrition requirements of vulnerable people
