Administration Officer – Laurel House
Location: Launceston Arch, TAS, Australia – Casual position with $48.31 per hour (inclusive of casual loading).
Role Overview
The Administration Officer works as part of the Operations Team to provide the first point of contact for victim‐survivors, members of the public and professionals accessing the North West Arch and Laurel House. The role requires high maturity, adherence to confidentiality and privacy legislation, and proficiency with administrative and technological tools.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for victim‐survivors, families, and community professionals.
* Provide reception duties in a human service environment, including office organisation and administrative support.
* Maintain client confidentiality and comply with privacy legislation and Laurel House policies.
* Manage phone, email and in‐person inquiries with sensitivity and appropriate communication.
* Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a multi‐demand environment.
* Work collaboratively and autonomously, exercising initiative and integrity.
Qualifications
* Understanding of trauma‐informed care, vicarious trauma and ability to implement self‐care strategies.
* Experience with reception duties in a human service setting; strong office organisation and administrative skills.
* Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional phone manner.
* Ability to manage time, set priorities and achieve outcomes in complex tasks.
* Demonstrated teamwork and autonomy, with initiative and integrity.
