Job Description
12 month contract – Part time (4 days per week)
* Collaborate with other departments to align import activities with business objectives.
* Manage end-to-end import shipping documentation to minimise delays, demurrage, and detention costs.
* Track all inbound shipments (sea, air, local) and proactively communicate ETAs, delays, and risks.
* Coordinate customs clearance with freight forwarders, brokers, 3PLs, and regulatory bodies.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely shipping and compliance documentation.
* Source competitive freight quotes and provide ongoing market rate insights.
* Monitor global shipping conditions and flag risks impacting transit times and supply continuity.
* Maintain accurate shipment data in SAP, including goods receipts and container ETA updates.
* Manage 3PL bookings, delivery requests, and ensure timely warehouse scheduling.
* Prepare and share inbound shipment reports and forward arrival schedules with key stakeholders.
* Coordinate container arrivals, unpack schedules, and minimise associated port and yard costs.
* Build strong relationships with freight, transport, and warehouse partners to ensure efficient operations.
* Ensure compliance with import regulations, permits, and quality documentation requirements while supporting continuous process improvement.
