Overview
We're seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead a large-scale NTFS permissions remediation program within a complex enterprise server environment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong Windows infrastructure experience, deep knowledge of NTFS security models, and proven capability delivering enterprise-scale access remediation initiatives with minimal operational disruption.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and analyse existing NTFS permissions across enterprise Windows environments
* Identify excessive, orphaned, redundant, and inconsistent access permissions
* Execute structured remediation activities aligned to least-privilege principles
* Simplify and standardise access models across file shares and server estates
* Review inheritance structures, nested group permissions, and share-level access
* Plan and coordinate remediation schedules, implementation plans, and rollback procedures
* Work closely with infrastructure, cyber security, service management, and business stakeholders
* Validate and test permissions post-remediation to ensure business continuity
* Produce technical documentation, remediation runbooks, and governance standards
Key Experience Required
* Strong Windows Server administration experience
* Deep understanding of NTFS permissions and access control models
* Experience with enterprise-scale permissions remediation projects
* Knowledge of Active Directory groups, inheritance, and access governance
* Strong stakeholder engagement and change management capability
* Ability to work across technical and business teams in complex environments
