About The Role
The Programs Coordinator is a dynamic and hands‐on role responsible for coordinating the delivery and ongoing development of dry programs and aqua aerobics at the Bellarine Aquatic & Sports Centre. Reporting to the Centre Manager, this position oversees a broad range of recreation and wellness services including gym, group exercise, older adult, and junior programs, while providing leadership and support to program staff and instructors. The role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, inclusive, and customer‐focused environment through effective daily operations, program planning, staff supervision, and stakeholder engagement. It also contributes to the strategic growth of leisure programs and supports the centre's commitment to community wellbeing, operational excellence, and high‐quality customer service.

Key responsibilities
* Coordinate and oversee the delivery of dry programs and aqua aerobics, ensuring safe, engaging and customer‐focused services across gym, group exercise, older adult and junior programs.
* Lead, mentor, and support program staff and instructors to maintain high standards of performance, customer service and operational excellence.
* Assist in the strategic planning, development, implementation and evaluation of innovative recreation and wellness programmes to meet community needs.
* Manage day‐to‐day operational and administrative functions including programme scheduling, facility bookings, reporting and compliance with OH&S and Council policies.
* Build positive relationships with customers, community groups, suppliers and internal stakeholders while promoting a welcoming and inclusive leisure environment.
About You
You are a motivated and community‐focused recreation professional with experience in coordinating leisure, fitness and wellness programmes within a dynamic aquatic or leisure centre environment. You thrive in a leadership role, bringing the ability to support and develop staff while delivering exceptional customer experiences across a diverse range of programmes and services. With strong organisational skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to safety and inclusion, you can confidently manage day‐to‐day operations, build positive stakeholder relationships and contribute to innovative programmes that promote health and wellbeing within the community.
Essential Experience
* Tertiary qualification relevant to recreation programme management or several years' experience in a related field.
* Certificate III & IV in Fitness.
* Provide First Aid.
* Pool Lifeguard Award.
* Peak fitness body registration – Fitness Australia.
* Current Working with Children Check.
