Senior Broadacre Crop and Livestock Farm Worker

Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position

Location: Popanyinning, Western Australia Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: $77,000-$85,000 AUD per annum (commensurate with skills and experience)

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Senior Broadacre Crop and Livestock Farm Worker for a permanent, full‐time opportunity. The role requires motivation, well‐rounded experience in mixed farming operations, including animal husbandry and broadacre crop production. The successful candidate will work closely with farm managers, support livestock and cropping operations, and may supervise day‐to‐day farm activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Support the planning and implementation of broadacre cropping programs, including sowing, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting
* Operate and maintain modern farm machinery such as tractors, sprayers, seeders, harvesters, and front‐end loaders
* Monitor crop and pasture health and report signs of disease, pest infestations, or deficiencies
* Provide care for piggery livestock, including feeding, monitoring, handling, and assisting in movement and transportation
* Record and report livestock data, machinery usage, and crop production figures as required
* Assist with the coordination and supervision of seasonal workers during high‐demand periods
* Transport and handle hay, straw, feed, fertiliser, and other materials around the farm
* Perform general farm maintenance tasks including fencing, yard work, water systems, and infrastructure repair
* Adhere to and promote best practices in biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace health and safety
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
* Hold an AQF Certificate II or equivalent and have at least 1.5 years (20+ hours/week) of relevant post‐qualification experience; or an AQF Certificate III or higher and have at least 1 year (20+ hours/week) of relevant post‐qualification experience; or have at least 1 year of full‐time (38+ hours/week) relevant experience in broadacre and livestock farm work
* Demonstrated experience in both broadacre crop production and livestock handling (pigs or other livestock)
* Practical knowledge of seeding, spraying, harvesting, and feeding systems
* Competence in operating and maintaining farm machinery and mechanical equipment
* Familiarity with safe work practices, WHS regulations, and biosecurity protocols
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
* Good communication skills and willingness to assist in supervision
* A current driver's licence is required; machinery or forklift tickets are desirable
