The Role
The Copper SA Integrated Management System (IMS) is a critical framework supporting health, safety, environment, process safety, and quality management across the asset. The IMS plays a key role in maintaining Olympic Dam certifications to ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, ensuring we meet both regulatory and organisational standards. We are recruiting for a Specialist IMS to join the Copper SA Integrated Management System team. Reporting to the Superintendent, this role offers a valuable opportunity to develop and strengthen expertise in compliance, auditing, and management systems while contributing meaningfully to continuous improvement and operational excellence across Copper SA.
In This Role You Will
* Support the IMS team to maintain current ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certifications.
* Conduct IMS system monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation to identify system improvements and seek to make a difference to the IMS.
* Support the team in the implementation of the IMS.
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies, governance improvements, enhancing systems and reporting.
* Build capability in IMS personnel through training, coaching, and collaborative engagement.
* Lead digital transformation initiatives within the IMS, including automation, data integration, and use of analytics to improve decision‐making.
* Provide key support to internal and external audits.
* Support BHP's commitment to safety, customer value and reducing waste.
About You
* Experience in systems management, working knowledge of ISO or a person who actively works with management systems, or a desire to develop these skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
* Ability to plan and apply a structured approach to problem‐solving to identify the root cause and evaluate solutions for implementation.
* Proactive and continuous‐improvement mindset.
* Qualifications or lived experience in Safety Management, Engineering, Environment, or a related field.
