Yilabara is an Aboriginal owned employment and training company focused on driving economic independence for Aboriginal people and their communities. We deliver a range of government funded employment programs and provide training and consulting services for organisations working to improve Indigenous employment outcomes.

The Role
Yilabara is growing and due to internal promotion and we have an opportunity for an Employment Advisor to join our Wollongong Employment Services Team on a permanent full time basis.
As an Employment Advisor your role will form part of our Illawarra South Coast Workforce Australia Team. Your role is primarily there to support local Aboriginal job seekers in their goal to re-enter the workforce or to move into formal education.
The role operates across a fast pace environment, a high performance environment and highly engaging with our Aboriginal Communities
Core Responsibilities:
* Case manage an active caseload of majority Aboriginal Jobseekers working to address barriers that may restrict their goal to re-engaging into employment.
* Maintain a comprehensive record of client engagement using all necessary reporting platforms
* Actively reverse market Aboriginal jobseekers to local employers
* Work to gain a thorough understanding of the local labour market and identify where employment opportunities are available
* Encourage and motivate clients ensuring our focus remains on strengths, capacity and capabilities.
* Facilitate job clubs maximising opportunities for our Aboriginal Jobseekers
* Work closely with local stakeholders addressing Aboriginal unemployment across our communities.
Essential Criteria
* Experience in Employment and Recruitment Services
* Community engagement experience in working with Aboriginal community and organisations
* Strong experience in managing stakeholder relationships
* Extensive experience in client centered case management
* A "Can Do" attitude with the ability to motivate and encourage others
* Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly in negotiation and rapport development
* Commitment to principles underpinning the values of excellence, best practice, and cultural engagement
* Working with Children Check and National Police Check
* Valid Current Drivers license [min P2]
