Position

We are looking for an experienced data analyst with advanced MS Excel skills to join the Public Health Information Development Unit (PHIDU) at Torrens University Australia, Adelaide. This fixed‐term role is available until June2027, with a possibility of extension until June2029 pending funding. The position is full‐time, but part‐time arrangements of four days per week are considered.

Key Responsibilities
* Compile, process and analyse data supplied by external agencies using MS Excel.
* Update and maintain various atlases:
o Whole population
o Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population
o Indigenous status
o Child and youth health
o Older persons
o Remoteness areas and quintiles of socioeconomic disadvantage for the whole and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander populations over time
* Perform geographically‐based, in‐depth analyses of health outcomes and health service use data.
* Contribute to the maintenance of the PHIDU website.
* Utilise software and online tools, such as ABS TableBuilder, for data analysis.
* Undertake special projects as required.
Qualifications
* Advanced MS Excel skills.
* Knowledge of population and public health, with an understanding of health inequalities affecting disadvantaged groups.
* Proficiency in data manipulation and spatial analysis.
* Well‐developed communication skills, including written and oral presentation.
* Tertiary qualification in Health Sciences, Mathematics (Statistics) or a related field.
* Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a small team.
Desirable
* Experience in a similar health‐related data analyst role.
* Knowledge and experience with mapping packages such as ArcGIS.
* Experience using statistical software (e.g., SPSS).
* Experience with website editing tools such as Joomla.
* Broad knowledge of health information systems and their application to health planning, monitoring, and policy development.
Location & Working Arrangements

Adelaide, Wakefield Campus. On‐site work is required; the role is full‐time but part‐time (four days per week) is possible.
