Key Responsibilities
* Install and configure network devices including routers, servers, switches, and firewalls from brands such as Cisco, Juniper, F5, Super micro, HP, Microsoft, and Oracle.
* Install software updates and security patches for customer equipment.
* Install cross‐connects using Unshielded Twisted Pair and fiber, and provide patch cables.
* Provide remote technical support via phone, email, and web application (Cisco WebEx and TeamViewer) for emergency network outages and troubleshooting.
* Monitor network activities such as alert reports and performance statistics and report to ensure uptime and efficient resolution of issues.
* Assess and recommend ways to enhance customer network operations and integrated hardware/software.
* Prepare and maintain documentation of customer network inventory, troubleshooting procedures, and resolution to issues.
* Maintain proper record of work operations, events, and logs to produce concise reports to company management.
* Upgrade network equipment such as fans, DIMM modules, motherboards, SFPs, RAID controllers, blade servers, hard drives.
* Perform tape backup to protect important customer information.
* Perform layer‐three ping and traffic testing using JDS Uniphase (JDSU) and OTDR to locate faults on fiber network.
* Use advanced Fluke network testers for certifying UTP and fiber cables.
* Support operations and security and critical facilities personnel for breaks or other activities when necessary.
What we are looking for
* Technical aptitude and ability to complete all training and onboarding.
* Commitment to teamwork and collaboration, including participation in a 24/7 roster with 12‐hour shifts.
* Positive attitude and willingness to continually learn and evolve in the role.
* Completion of a TAFE NSW certification in IT or telco‐related course.
* Hands‐on experience or understanding of fiber optics.
* Customer service experience highly regarded.
* Ability to attain and maintain NV1 Security Clearance (some sites require Australian citizenship).
