Desalworks was established in 2021 as a sole‐operator business specialising in the servicing, repair, and installation of marine desalinators. Since then, the business has grown significantly, expanding its capabilities and customer base. As part of this growth, Desalworks acquired CITOR — a well‐known Western Australian manufacturer of high quality desalinators used across the Marine, Mining, Agriculture, and Hospitality sectors. Together, Desalworks and CITOR now deliver a comprehensive suite of water purification solutions backed by local expertise and a strong reputation for reliability.
We are seeking a passionate, motivated individual to join our team. This role offers a dynamic mix of field and workshop work with a focus on servicing and commissioning desalinators on marine vessels during peak periods, and undertaking assembly, maintenance, and system testing in our CITOR workshop during off‐peak times. As the business continues to grow, so too will this role with clear pathways to increased responsibility, expanded technical capability, and progression into broader areas of the business operation.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out general servicing and maintenance on a variety of desalinator brands
* Diagnosing issues and faults following consultation with clients
* Preparation and planning for coordination of new Marine desalination system installs
* Completing installation of new desalination units
* Repairs and servicing of various components such as high pressure pumps, valves, membrane pressure vessels and plumbing
* Assisting with new desalinator builds within CITOR workshop
* Ordering of spare parts and maintaining stock levels
* Updating work schedule, job notes and relevant contact details in Service M8
Qualifications
* Previous plumbing/mechanical/electrical or associated trade skills
* Prior experience with desalinators (ideal but not essential)
* Strong attention to detail
* Exceptional problem‐solving skills
* Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a close knit team
* Extreme pride in workmanship, presentation and customer interaction
* Commitment to OH&S standards
* Positive attitude and willingness to work with others in a friendly and professional manner
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
* Reliability, punctuality and excellent time‐management skills
* Physical fitness to meet the demands of the role
Relevant training specific to CITOR and other branded desalinators will be provided to ensure workmanship is at the level the business and its clients expect.
