About the Role
We are currently seeking a safety‐conscious Electrician Technician to join our Port Hedland Workshop. The role operates on a FIFO roster from Perth, with the potential to transition to an 8/6 roster in the future.
Responsibilities
* Execute maintenance activities safely and efficiently in line with weekly schedules, shutdown plans, and standardised work requirements.
* Conduct inspections of equipment, tools, and work areas, maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards.
* Take ownership of maintenance tasks, prioritising work to minimise breakdowns and disruptions to planned schedules.
* Report events, hazards, and work requirements accurately and in a timely manner, including participating in field leadership conversations.
* Support continuous improvement and BHP Operating System initiatives, providing input for engineering or reliability improvements.
* Follow all 1SAP/Fiori work management processes and complete training as required by the Workshop Supervisor.
About You
* Qualified Electrician (Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician)
* A grade Electrical License
* High Risk Worker Licence – Forklift
* Current Australian C class manual Drivers Licence
* Technical knowledge of PLCs (ABB) and VVVFs
* Experience troubleshooting electrical, control and hydraulic systems
* Strong 1SAP and Fiori knowledge and skills
* Strong commitment to safety, effective teamwork, and performing under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Experience using conveyor belt pulling equipment (e.g., belt winders, winches, pinches). (desired)
* Familiar with Almex vulcanising equipment, including breakdown presses, twopiece presses, spot presses, and control boxes. (desired)
