St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar is seeking a passionate and engaging English Teacher to join our Senior School team at the Officer Campus.
This is a full-time Semester 2 contract position commencing Term 3 2026, teaching English across Years 7–11, with the possibility of an ongoing opportunity for the right candidate.

About the Role
Reporting to the Associate Principal, you will work collaboratively within the English Learning Area to deliver engaging and high-quality teaching and learning programs that support student achievement and growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and assess engaging English programs across Years 7–11
* Foster a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
* Use differentiated teaching strategies to support diverse student learning needs
* Monitor, assess and report on student progress using a range of assessment tools
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery and student outcomes
* Contribute to the wellbeing program through Mentor group involvement
* Participate in co-curricular activities, school events and professional learning
* Integrate ICT and contemporary teaching practices into classroom learning
About You
You will bring:
* Tertiary qualifications in Education (English or related discipline)
* Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
* Experience teaching secondary English, ideally across Years 7–11
* Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and learning
* A commitment to student wellbeing, engagement and achievement
