Job Summary

The Program Coordinator – Youth Development & Employment is responsible for coordinating the delivery of youth development and employment programs that support Yawuru young people to build skills, confidence and pathways into education, training and work.

Responsibilities
* Coordinating youth employment and pathways programs, including Warrmijala Murrgurlayi (Rise Up to Work);
* Coordinating the Yawuru Youth Ambassadors Program and Mangayin Encouraging Excellence Youth Scholarship, including engagement with scholars, families and partners;
* Working collaboratively with internal teams, service providers, employers and the Yawuru community to ensure programs are delivered effectively, reported accurately and aligned with NBY's strategic objectives and values.
Essential Selection Criteria
* Relevant qualification in community development, youth work, education, employment services or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience;
* Experience supporting or coordinating programs for young people, education or employment pathways;
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail;
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal communities;
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate activities to meet deadlines;
* Competency in Microsoft Office and electronic record-keeping systems.
Desirable Selection Criteria
* Tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline;
* Previous knowledge of barriers faced by Yawuru people and the Aboriginal community as a whole;
* Existing networks within the community support and development sector, including government and non-government agency contacts.
