Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Chipley, or Tallahassee, FL.To be considered for this position, applicants musthave, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.What you’ll be doing:Perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of structural engineering principlesProjects may include design and repair of highway bridges and retaining walls, bridge load ratings, review of working drawings and cost estimatingAnalyze structures using various structural engineering software programsPrepare or check structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials, predominantly steel and concretePrepare structural drawings in Open Bridge, MicroStation and AutoCADCoordinate with other disciplines such as roadway and drainage to perform checks of documents for conformance to structural drawingsWork collaboratively as part of our Structures TeamWhat you need to have:B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience5 - 10 years of engineering experience in bridge designRecent experience in steel and/or concrete bridge designPE requiredFDOT experience requiredFamiliarity with bridge design and analysis software such as Open Bridge and/or Leap Bridge, CSI Bridge, AASHTO BrR, other bridge analysis softwareExperience with preparing drawings in Open Bridge, Microstation, and/or AutoCADStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
