About Pacific Pickleball
Pacific Pickleball is the professional pickleball competition organiser in Australia and New Zealand. We operate PPA Tour, Major League Pickleball, and Minor League competitions across both countries - building the sport from grassroots all the way to pro. This is a rare opportunity to shape the marketing function of a rapidly growing sports organisation in Australia's fastest growing sport.
The Role
The Marketing Director will own the end-to-end marketing function for all PPL entities. You will set strategy, lead the brand, manage commercial relationships and oversee production across events, broadcast and digital channels. This is a senior leadership position: you will manage a small internal team and a network of external contractors, and report directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
* Develop and execute marketing and brand strategy across all PPL entities in collaboration with the CEO
* Lead seasonal campaign planning for PPA Tour & MLP marketing and per-event activations
* Build annual marketing plans with clear campaign timelines, task ownership and deadlines
* Help drive event registrations through targeted digital campaigns
* Ensure consistent branding across all entities and every audience touchpoint
Commercial & Sponsorship
* Own all sponsorship and commercial relationships - zero missed deliverables
* Advise on marketing obligations embedded in sponsorship agreements
* Deliver sponsor visibility at events: signage, social content and broadcast integration
Broadcast & Media Leadership
* Serve as Head of Broadcast - managing the Broadcast Lead and on-site production crew
* Serve as Head of Media - overseeing photography and videography deadlines and deliverables
* Support broadcast monetisation strategy with the CEO
* Drive continuous improvement in viewer experience, production quality and stream reliability
Paid Advertising
* Lead paid advertising strategy across Meta Ads, Google and event-specific campaigns
* Set audience briefs, oversee performance and report on key metrics
Creative Direction & Brand
* Provide creative direction across all channels, events and entities
* Oversee all digital and physical assets: social content, signage, medals, trophies, sponsorship assets and broadcast graphics
* When necessary, manage Adobe suite production and outsourced design contractors
* Maintain and evolve PPL's visual identity in line with strategic brand positioning
Website & Digital Infrastructure
* Direct website customer experience, look and feel, and digital infrastructure strategy
* Hold primary account ownership across all digital platforms
* Ensure all platforms are current, functional and brand-consistent
Event Experience
* Own the marketing presentation across all PPL events: court signage, broadcast graphics and social content
* Ensure consistent brand execution at every event touchpoint
Analytics & Reporting
* Translate analytics data into strategic recommendations and decisions
* Report quarterly on KPIs: social growth, event registrations, broadcast viewership, website traffic and sponsor asset delivery
What We're Looking For
You are a senior marketing professional who thrives in a high-output, multi-brand environment. You combine strategic thinking with hands‐on execution, and you're comfortable leading a team while also rolling up your sleeves when needed.
Essential
* 5+ years in a senior marketing role, ideally in sports, events or entertainment
* Proven experience managing brand strategy across multiple entities or channels
* Strong commercial acumen and experience managing sponsorship relationships
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Meta Ads Manager
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required
Desirable
* Experience in broadcast, live streaming or sports production environments
* Knowledge of the pickleball landscape in Australia or internationally
* Experience managing outsourced design or media contractors
