We're currently seeking an Estimator Assistant to join our growing team in Launceston. This is an exciting opportunity to step into the construction industry and develop a long‐term career in estimating.
Due to strong demand and increasing workloads, this role plays a critical part in supporting our estimating team to meet customer deadlines and maintain service excellence.
This is a Full‐Time, Monday to Friday position (Part‐Time considered for the right applicant).
In this role, you will support the estimating team with administration, data entry, and foundational estimating tasks while learning the construction process from the ground up.
This is an entry‐level opportunity with structured development, designed to grow into a fully qualified Estimator role.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting the estimating team with administration and data entry
* Assisting with the preparation of quotes and documentation
* Sourcing material information and identifying suitable alternatives
* Reviewing construction documents and plans
* Maintaining accurate records and ensuring high attention to detail
* Assisting the team to meet customer deadlines and service expectations
* Building knowledge of construction processes, materials, and systems
Key Skills & Experience
* Interest or exposure to construction, building, or trade environments
* Strong numeracy skills with the ability to apply maths in practical scenarios
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Confidence working with data, spreadsheets, and documentation
* Ability to interpret or learn construction plans and documents

This role is designed as the first step in a structured career pathway:
* Estimator Assistant (6–12 months) Focus on administration, data entry, and learning the fundamentals of estimating and construction
* Junior Estimator Increased responsibility including supplier coordination, document review, and estimating support
* Estimator Managing end‐to‐end estimating with minimal supervision
* Senior Estimator Leading the estimating function and supporting team development
