Maintenance Fitter Job Description
Our company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance on plant and equipment, adhering to manufacturer recommendations for safety, quality, and maximising production outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly. You will work independently, planning and scheduling tasks as necessary, while also collaborating with other team members to achieve common goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular maintenance on plant and equipment to ensure safety, product quality, and production efficiency.
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate tasks independently, working closely with other team members when required.
* Execute emergency work orders promptly, providing troubleshooting expertise to minimise downtime.
* Diagnose faults and perform operational maintenance, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
* Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
* Provide daily feedback and reports on work progress, identifying delays and suggesting improvements to eliminate future issues.
* Supervise apprentices and contribute to a positive team environment, participating in regular safety meetings and maintaining a safe workplace.
* Work flexible hours, including shift cover and after-hours responses as needed.
* Adhere to a zero-harm safety philosophy, ensuring all mechanical work complies with safety standards and regulations.
