Your Opportunity
Working under the direction of Physiotherapists / Occupational therapists, you will deliver a consistently high standard of clinical service to clients in Residential Aged Care (RAC) settings. As an Allied Health Assistant your time will consist of both clinical and administrative duties.
You will be involved in a new innovative way of offering allied health services to our wonderful clients. Our award‐winning (2023 Allied Health Award for Innovative Product Excellence) Plena Care Pathway is designed to provide our therapists with an opportunity to tailor therapy programs for our residents, built from resident goals and priorities, and delivers evidence‐based mobility and functional programs, care plan reviews, one‐to‐one therapy interventions, and group‐based active aging services.
* Assist in delivering all physiotherapy services in accordance with Plena Healthcare operating procedures and policies.
* Service RAC clients in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals treatment plan.
* Transport residents to and from the therapy gym area or appointments under the direction of physiotherapists / occupational therapists.
* Set up and pack away the physiotherapy gym, including cleaning both the area and equipment.
* Collect referrals and other administrative tasks as guided by the physiotherapists.
* Order prescribed equipment.
* Run exercise groups / programs.
* Support initiatives to meet client / contract expectations.
* Consult with the physiotherapist / occupational therapist regarding adaptations, changes, and progressions of treatment plans for clients as appropriate.
* Participate in mentoring, supervision and appraisals in line with Plena Healthcare's policy and procedure.
