The Team

Ward 3D is a 32-bed general medical ward located on Level 3 of the Launceston General Hospital. Our exceptional staff are committed to treating every patient with respect, patience, and support. The Role

- Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals.
- Practice in accordance with the NMBA codes and guidelines for registered nurses and midwives.
- Contribute to the maintenance and promotion of a safe work environment.
- In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluate patient/client care.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive approach.

You will need

- Applicants with a minimum of two years' nursing experience will be highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work across morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
- Strong clinical assessment skills to accurately monitor patient conditions and identify signs of deterioration in an acute care setting.

Details of appointments

Multiple fixed term part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 72 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date until 1 April 2026 (varied hours and fixed term periods).

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary and benefits

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Salary Packaging

You'll have access to salary packaging a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
