Position Overview
The Bureau is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Radio Frequency (RF) and Spectrum Officer. The Bureau is highly dependent on its RF spectrum allocations to ensure extensive active and passive RF meteorological observations can be conducted without interference or degradation. protecting the Bureau's services through the analysis of the potential performance impacts of wind farm developments on the Bureau's observing system assets, including weather radars. The position will also support RF analysis for the acquisition and maintenance of spectrum licences and determining non-ionising radiation safety zones for Bureau RF systems.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis for the impacts of wind farms in relation to the performance of Bureau sensors.
RF analysis for the acquisition and maintenance of spectrum licences.
RF analysis to determine non-ionising radiation safety zones for occupational and general public safety for Bureau RF systems.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have extensive technical experience in RF propagation, interference and path loss calculations, reflectivity, spectrum allocation management, software modelling and physical measurements. The successful applicant will be able to apply this RF expertise to weather radars, wind profilers, ionosondes, RF communications links, active and passive satellite measurements.
