**The Role**
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Finance Business Partner Corporate is responsible for providing support and assistance in delivering strategic financial services in relation to the internal departmental operating budget.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide support and assistance to Corporate and Enabling Services Group with development of their internal budgets (Departmental).
- Review forecasts on a monthly basis to inform management of funding issues by highlighting pressures or savings.
- Produce monthly financial reports.
- Providing analysis and advice on the current and planned financial performance and position of the Divisions.
- Working with internal stakeholders to assist in end of month management reporting.

**Skills and Capabilities**
We are seeking an individual with the following skills and capabilities:

- Exceptional communication, analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with high-level internal and external stakeholders on a range of financial issues.
- Experience in accounting or finance area and a working knowledge and understanding of the commonwealth financial framework including accrual accounting, annual appropriation process and the legislation that governs the department's financial operations, primarily the PGPA Act.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively to respond to changing demands.
- Highly developed it skills including intermediate to advanced Microsoft excel skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to maintain good working relationships.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to cultivate, negotiate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**The Opportunity**
This position is available to Ongoing Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and APS employees as a temporary transfer at level or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 6 months.
