About the Role
Achieve benchmark kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards, ensure sanitisation processes remain high, deliver patient food carts efficiently, and perform minor food preparation. General cleaning of the kitchen and fridges, floor, ceiling, etc. Clean fix‐based equipment, utensils, external food service trolleys and trays. Conduct food safety monitoring procedures.
Responsibilities
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards.
* Ensure sanitisation processes remain at a high standard.
* Deliver patient food carts efficiently.
* Handle minor food preparation tasks.
* Clean kitchen areas (fridges, floor, ceiling) and equipment.
* Deliver meal trolleys to wards and external sites.
* Clean fix‐based equipment and utensils.
* Clean external food service trolleys and trays.
* Perform food safety monitoring procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
* Current food handlers certificate (HLTFSE001) required.
* Organisational skills.
* Experience in high volume food service.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain.
* Willingness to undergo mandatory immunisations/vaccinations (including flu vaccinations).

About the Food Services Team
St Vincent's Fitzroy Food service department is a central production kitchen providing food for 11 sites and for St Vincent's itself. The department consists of over 85 employees, ranging from cooks/chefs, kitchen hands and food service assistants. We produce approximately 2,500 meals daily using the "cook‐chill" methodology for all sites.
