As a Senior Software Engineer in Azure Storage, you will play a key role in defining the technical direction of the most complex pieces of Azure Storage, while delivering continued improvements and pathbreaking features at a high quality. Responsibilities
* Collaborate with stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
* Drive identification of dependencies and develop design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
* Create, implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance, maintainability, effectiveness, and ROI.
* Leverage product feature expertise and partner with stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
* Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook; monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions; alert stakeholders and initiate actions to restore service for simple and complex problems as appropriate.
* Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
* 2+ years of experience working with file storage or distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
* OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
* OR equivalent experience.
* 1+ year(s) of experience with a hardware background.
Other Requirements
* Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check, which must be passed upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
