The Opportunity

Based in Mandurah, WA, the Operations Manager is accountable for achieving targets for operating efficiencies, productivity, equipment utilisation, while ensuring that commercial and operational performance targets are met.

* Provide frontline leadership to a diverse team of ~50 employees across the Southwest portfolio.
* Drive a culture of compliance and safety to ensure effective risk and compliance initiatives are established and promoted.
* Ensure that appropriate performance reviews, talent management and succession plans are in place to maximise engagement and retention of employees.
* Ensure that operational requirements are met with available assets.
* Monitor and manage the operational activities of the Branch and be accountable for the overall operational performance including with a key focus on value drivers.
* Manage a substantial local government waste services collection network.
* Ensure that compliance and governance requirements are well managed.
* Identification and implementation of operational efficiencies to achieve exemplary customer service practices and meet contractual obligations within financial and operational targets
* Work with customers and the Sales team to maximise revenue growth opportunities (organic and new business)
* Ensure site equipment is purchased, maintained and operated appropriately in accordance with requirements, and identify additional equipment needs to provide effective service delivery
* Investigate, report and manage vehicle incidents/accidents, property damage and personal injury
About You
* Managing operational departments in a blue-collar environment
* Leadership ability and track record in safety leadership and performance
* Strong commercial, negotiation, and influencing skills – ability to manage expectations
* Demonstrated experience with managing tight timeframes
* Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
* Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and communication channels with stakeholders
