About Brisbane Bullets The Brisbane Bullets are South Queensland's only NBL franchise, competing at the elite level of Australian professional basketball. Based at the Brisbane Bullets High Performance Center, South Bank Brisbane, the Bullets are committed to high performance excellence and the development of the next generation of sport professionals. Position Summary The Brisbane Bullets are seeking exercise science, human movement or strength and conditioning students to join the High Performance department as S&C Interns for the 2026/27 NBL season. This is a vocational placement for students enrolled in a university Work Integrated Learning (WIL) or placement unit. Working alongside the Strength & Conditioning Coach, interns will observe and develop practical understanding of physical preparation in a professional NBL environment. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Observe and assist in the delivery of gym-based strength and power sessions for NBL players Observe and learn warm-up, activation and recovery protocols used on training and game days Assist with recording athlete training loads and readiness metrics Observe and assist with pre-season and in-season physical testing and screening procedures Develop a learning project or resource related to program design or athlete development Assist with data entry and equipment checks as a learning activity ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Exercise Science, Human Movement or S&C-related degree, undertaking this placement as part of a university WIL or placement unit Demonstrated passion for strength, conditioning and athletic performance Practical experience in a supervised gym or sport setting Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Current driver's licence and reliable transport DESIRABLE Prior experience in a team sport or high performance environment ASCA, CSCS, AES or equivalent accreditation in progress or completed Experience with athlete monitoring software or wearable technology Learning Outcomes Through this placement, interns will develop practical understanding of: Principles of strength and power programming for elite athletes Athlete load monitoring, readiness assessment and periodisation in a professional setting How a multidisciplinary high performance team operates within an NBL environment Professional standards, ethics and confidentiality in elite sport Practical application of exercise science theory in a competitive professional basketball context HOW TO APPLY Submit your expression of interest and current CV to recruitment@brisbanebullets.com.au Subject line: "SC Internship" · Applications close COB 12 June 2026 For enquiries, please contact recruitment@brisbanebullets.com.au
